2. Install the extension — v1.3.0

The beta ships on an unlisted Chrome Web Store channel: install once and Chrome auto-updates you with every new build. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc and Opera.

Privacy & compliance

The Web Store listing is in review. Until it goes live, load the package manually with the steps below — your settings carry over to the store build.

  1. Unzip the downloaded file.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome or any Chromium browser.
  3. Enable Developer mode (toggle in the top right).
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.

3. Turn it on

    Nothing is analyzed until you switch consent on, and you can pause from the widget any time.

For admins: publishing the unlisted beta

  1. Create a Chrome Web Store developer account and pay the one-time $5 registration fee.
  2. Click New item and upload silent-echoes-1.3.0.zip (the button above downloads the exact artefact).
  3. Paste the listing copy, permission justifications and data-usage answers from extension/STORE_LISTING.md into Store listing and Privacy practices.
  4. Under Distribution set visibility to Unlisted — the item is live by direct link only, so the beta cohort onboards without waiting for public review.
  5. Paste the resulting item URL into WEB_STORE_URL in this page's source; the download button becomes an “Add to Chrome” button everywhere.
  6. Share the link (or a QR code) with testers. Coaching still respects the fleet kill switch and minimum-version gate in the admin console.
